NYPL – Mulberry Street Branch – Internships

We are seeking interns and/or volunteers for the Mulberry Street branch of the New York Public Library for the Summer and Fall of 2012. This is a GREAT opportunity for MLS students interested in a career in public libraries to get hands-on experience working with collections, programming, and with the public.

We specifically need help with collection maintenance, but there are also opportunities for cultivating reference skills, designing community information projects, readers advisory, assisting with programming, and working closely with the Young Adult and Children’s departments. Students who have a keen interest in Children’s programming will have an opportunity if Fall 2012 to design and implement their own programs, working with a variety of age groups.

Time and days are flexible, we can work with your schedule, and with your program advisors. The library is located in SoHo, very close to the Broadway/Lafayette BDFM station, the Bleeker St. 6 train, or the R to Prince Street. Please email sherriliberman@nypl.org for more information.
