Primary responsibility is the screening and meta-data tagging of HBO owned footage for the clip licensing Archives group
Screen individual videotapes and files for most marketable shots. Individually fact-check shots on as needed basis. Conform to standardized language/formats of HBO Archives library system. Add keyword and concept words to cataloged clips. Order historic videotapes on as needed basis from HBO storage facilities. Work with HBO Archives researcher and Licensing Agents to help provide creative solutions to both inside and outside producer needs. Identify potential rights issues involved with footage. Develop a strong understanding of the unique and varied footage collections of HBO Archives. Time permitting, assist Researcher with client requests and help build client base.
College degree required, preferably in Film & Media Studies with additional coursework in 20th century history. One year of related experience. Candidate must be organized; a strong communicator; able to multi-task. Deep knowledge of 20th century world history, American sports history, Entertainment News, world geography and current events.
Experience with Avid MediaLog and Avid Assist Interplay Software. Ability to work independently and within a group environment under extreme deadlines. A working knowledge of SVHS, Beta and Digibeta decks is helpful.
