Fall 2012 Archives Internship
The Guggenheim Museum Archives is offering an unpaid internship for the fall 2012 semester. The intern will work at the Guggenheim’s offices and warehouse location two or three days per week. Internship work will include: processing archival collections; database management; encoding of finding aids in EAD; and historical research. As time permits, the intern will also assist with accessioning projects and reference work. Possible internship days are Mondays (required), Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in the Guggenheim Internship Program’s Museum Culture Seminars (www.guggenheim.org/internships). Fall 2012 Library Internship
The Guggenheim Museum Library is offering an unpaid internship for the fall 2012 semester. The intern will work at the Guggenheim’s offices in lower Manhattan two or three days per week. Internship work will include: cataloging the library’s backlog of new books and older uncataloged items; providing reference and research services to curatorial and other staff members; assisting in cataloging and digitizing a special rare books collection; and assisting in the planning and implementation of an offsite storage project. Scheduling is flexible. The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in the Guggenheim Internship Program’s Museum Culture Seminars (www.guggenheim.org/internships).
