Archivist Internship – Danny Clinch Studio

Danny Clinch Studio is seeking an intern to aid in the organization and cataloging of our archive.  We are a small business located in Hell’s Kitchen that facilitates the archiving, printing and studio support for noted photographer Danny Clinch.

Candidates should be enrolled in a Master’s Program in Library Science (or comparable) and be willing to aid us in creating a detailed inventory for our jobs and developing a controlled vocabulary of descriptive terms.  Part of the internship will involve physically moving and re-organizing negatives, contact sheets and photographs.

Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required as is a strong knowledge of MS Excel.  Knowledge of Filemaker Pro and open source digital asset management software a plus.

The internship is unpaid, but lunches will be provided by the studio.  You will have the benefit of working in a friendly and intimate environment and will be able to potentially spearhead our archiving system.

Students with coursework or previous internships in archives and photo collections are encouraged to apply.

Internship time-frame and weekly schedule is negotiable.  Please contact us with a resume and brief description at allyson@dannyclinch.com.

We look forward to meeting you-
