Hunter College Elementary School Library located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan needs a paraprofessional for the 2012-13 school year to assist the librarian.    This is a unique publicly funded school for intellectually gifted children of about 325 students in the K-6 grades.  The person hired will perform a variety of tasks under supervision including help with circulation desk activities, shelving, material cataloging and processing, developing displays and bulletin board designs, website design, assist students with research questions, maintain computers and general appearance of the facility.  It is a great opportunity to gain hands-on training as a School Library Media Specialist.

This is a part-time position of 20 hours a week with $14/hour compensation.  Schedule to be determined.
