If you are a positive, highly-motivated worker committed to providing exceptional customer service, Baruch College’s Newman Library invites you to apply for a part-time service desk assistant position located in the Access Services Division.
Responsibilities include serving patrons at a very busy service desk, circulating and retrieving library materials, managing patron records, performing basic financial transactions, and patiently and professionally answering questions about library services and policies.
Qualifications: The ability to achieve consistently high customer satisfaction and service excellence, basic computer skills, dependability, and good written and oral communication skills. Prior sales, hospitality, or customer service experience in a non-library environment is necessary.
Hours: 20 hours per week. Weekdays, evenings, and weekends are available and expected.
**Please note, this is a part-time position with no opportunity for advancement or expansion into a full-time position. I am unable to consider applicants who already have their MLS, and will primarily be looking for applicants with at least two more semesters before graduation.
Compensation: $12/hour
