The Digital Asset Management Group/Department of Digital Media of the Metropolitan Museum of Art is looking for current college seniors and graduate students who are interested in applying for an unpaid one or two semester internship during the upcoming academic year.
Basic Photoshop and image knowledge required: can use a mouse to make precision selections, knowledge of techniques for creating custom clipping paths, and how to set up and make use of actions. Also must be comfortable navigating servers, and learning in-house file organization, nomenclature and labeling systems.
Length of internship is flexible. Either: a fall internship (September-December) for a minimum of at least two full days (14 hours) per week or a fall-spring internship (September-May) for a minimum of at least one full day (7 hours) per week during business hours. The department is only open Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00 and closed on the weekends.
Interns will be eligible for employee discounts at the Museum’s public restaurant, Membership Dining Room, the Museum’s retail stores, and free admission to all other New York City museums.
