The Division of Innovative, International & Professional Studies (DIIPS) at Queens College, CUNY offers unique academic and international educational opportunities for students, employers, and external organizations. In addition to providing quality non-credit and certificate courses, DIIPS, in collaboration with the Queens College’s other academic divisions, wishes to develop and offer new non-credit, degree, and credit-bearing programs that will better serve the needs of the community and the evolving landscape of today’s society and workforce.

Such programs will include, but are not limited to, new professional and executive degree programs; professional certificates and on-site professional training which offer both credit and non-credit cohort alternatives; and online and hybrid learning opportunities.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of DIIPS, the Coordinator of Academic Programs will collaborate extensively with the academic deans, department chairs, and faculty in developing and launching these new non-credit, degree, and credit-bearing programs and exercise independent judgment in administering and managing this initiative.

SCOPE OF WORK:
• Investigate relevant academic and grant opportunities related to developing new non-credit and credit-bearing offerings; draft proposals and recommendations regarding such in accordance with the goals and objectives of DIIPS.
• Work closely with and assist the College deans, department chairs, faculty, and staff to develop and offer new non-credit and credit-bearing programs designed to meet the needs of adult learners; participate in faculty recruitment efforts as needed.
• Identify and collaborate with industry, corporate, and other potential external partners to develop and offer new programs.
• Evaluate current DIIPS program initiatives and offerings to ensure that they reflect the ever-changing digital and global workforce; monitor and tailor these programs so that they are relevant and consistent with the College’s mission.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of program policies and procedures and monitor program effectiveness and profitability in consultation with Executive Director and appropriate administrative staff.
• Prepare academic program proposals for external market evaluation by outside consultants and other partners to develop effective marketing strategies and outreach efforts that promote these offerings and reach new student populations.
• Interact with prospective and current students to address questions regarding new offerings; assist in planning and conducting open houses, information seminars, and orientation events.
• Build liaisons with College departments currently utilizing prior learning assessment (PLA) tools; utilize PLA’s and evaluate the provision of college credit for life experience as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with college personnel, non-teaching, and support staff to enhance the quality, diversity, and delivery of these programs and services.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• An earned doctoral or terminal degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability and/or interest in productive scholarly and creative achievement; prior teaching experience within a college or university setting.
• Experience creating, developing, administering, and/or overseeing executive, professional, adult, and/or continuing education degree, certificate, or non-credit programs.
• Experience accessing, using, and running reports in CUNYfirst (CUNY’s fully integrated resources and services tool).
• Familiarity with prior learning assessment (PLA) tools and evaluating/awarding college credit for student life experience.
• Ability to work well and interact with audiences of varied knowledge and expertise.
• Excellent communication and analytic skills including report and grant writing experience.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and business skills.

COMPENSATION/LENGTH OF CONSULTANCY
Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience; length of consultancy to be negotiated based on candidates availably and needs of project.
